Our Farm began as a vision to a fifteen year old boy, Rufus P. Rinker, who at that time bought his first tractor, a Farmall Cub, in hopes of owning his own farm. In 1971 his dream became a reality, when he bought 111 acres in Berryville, Virginia situated in rural Clarke County. After thirty-eight years of farming, primarily solo, Rufus is being joined by his sixth and youngest daughter, Shawna Rinker Hartsook, in preserving the family farm. Shawna recently became inspired to reach out to the community in a different capacity after having worked in the public school system as a teacher for twelve years. She will now combine her love of teaching and farming as she will continue bringing students to the farm for environmental education programs. Together, Rufus and Shawna are proud to produce and harvest 100% naturally grown produce using no chemicals that will carry the local flavor from their farm to your family.
